Recipe for waste

I enjoy food. Granted I'm picky and you'd call me a meat and potatoes kind of guy.

I like watching the Food Network, restaurant reviews, etc. The other day I was thinking when these chefs are preparing their dishes they always toss these unfinished portions to the side.

Now in our world as it is with hunger in our country and other countries on the globe isn't this a shameful waste of food? The children or adults of Darfur aren't going to be eating lobster bisque with asparagus filled puff pastry but waste is waste and somehow this bugs me.

Election fever, Catch It!

Barack Obama wins the Iowa caucus. The media for the most part annoints him president. Cancel all the primaries.

Five days later, Hilary Clinton wins the New Hampshire primary. Again, the media is in full out frenzy and annoints her president. Cancel the remaining primaries.

Why doesn't the media just sit back and report the events as they happen? Forget projections, exit polls, pre election polls, research polls, and any other poll and wait for the results.

Also don't be surprised when during this primary madness someone asks, "Who's running in 2012?" I'll have a poll ready for them all right.

Sometimes just let it go.

The other day the FBI said they would be once again pursuing the case of DB Cooper. He's the guy who hijacked a plane in 1971, then jumped out of the plane with a large amount of money.

Doesn't the FBI have enough work trying to catch today's criminals and terrorists without having to worry about a 36 year old case on a guy by all accounts probably died when he jumped? If he did live then big deal, he never bothered anyone after that.

FBI worry about now not 37 years ago.

Made in China?

China has a float in the Rose Bowl Parade.

How ironic is it that since its built here the Chinese float is, "Made in USA."

It'll fall apart halfway through.
